Eucalyptus is a large tree genus from the Mersingiller family, also known by names such as "malaria tree", "sulfata tree", swamp-drying, and strange friend. Its homeland is Australia. Eucalyptus was brought to Turkey for the first time in 1885 by the French company that built the Adana-Mersin railway to be planted as an ornamental plant. Eucalyptus Trees, which bloom purple flowers, remain evergreen and have hard wood, can contain between 200 liters and 1000 liters of water. They are swamp-drying trees. If you plant it near your house, you will prevent water damage to the foundation. Landslides are also very beneficial. Also, its leaves are very healing. It keeps you very cool in the summer heat.
Eucalyptus oil is obtained from the leaves of this tree by using the steam distillation method. This oil is very rich in Cineol (Eucalyptol).
